2011 District 5 Little League Tournament Umpire Clinic

League Presidents, It is that time of year again and we NEED Baseball and Softball Umpires from all leagues to attend the Umpire Clinic.  This is mandatory for all umpires participating in the tournament.

UNM Softball Summer Camps

Head Coach Erica Beach would like to announce the 2011 Summer Camp schedule at the University of New Mexico.  Several camps will be offered suitable for all ages and skill levels.  Areas of offense, defense, hitting and other skills will be covered during the sessions.  All camps will be run by the UNM coaching staff which includes head Coach Erica Beach and assistant coaches Christi Musser and Lyndsey Angus.  Several members of the current team will also be serving as instructors.   You may register online at www.newmexicosoftballcamps.com .

Outreach for Used Baseball Equipment

A small group of Sandia Prep students are participating in an outreach program at an orphanage in the Dominican Republic.  They would like to take recycled baseball equipment to the orphans.

They want to share their love of the game with some of these children.   If you have equipment that you would like to donate please bring it to Altamont Little League by Saturday May 14th.

May President’s Meeting – DA Election

The May District 5 President’s meeting will be held May 3rd at the Roadrunner Little League Board room at 6:30 PM.

1. An election will be held for the next District 5 Administrator 3 year term.
2. Boundary maps and signed written boundary descriptions must be brought to the meeting by all president’s. There are still discrepancies with some leagues as to their borders.
3. Leagues that have not paid their district player dues must bring them to this meeting.

NM Little League Umpire Association – General Membership Meeting

You asked, we listened!  Many of our members have expressed difficulty in being able to attend our weeknight meetings during the regular season, and have asked whether a Sunday afternoon meeting time would be possible.  The answer is… absolutely!
