District 5 Little League

Presidents Meeting

March 10, 2009

6:00 pm

Roadrunner LL Boardroom

1.    New Staff- Camilla

·    Handout distributed w/ updated contact info. 

·    Information Officer- Anthony Fasulo, Safety Officer- Donna Buffett, Secretary- Sasha Allison

2.    Jamboree- Ty Kattenhorn

·    Post season BJR Yes action from  Zia, Altamont, MH, Lobo, RRLL

·    RRLL will host and is responsible for submitting special play papers

·    Dates TBA, but agreed on first 2 weeks in June

3.    Interleaguing- Chris Hughes

·    No special requests for inclusion/exclusion of a particular league will be considered by Camilla

·    All considerations and provisions have been made to keep weeknight games close to home leagues. Some games may be played at neutral leagues to decrease travel equally between teams when possible.

·    Interleague and combined league team forms were signed by league representatives and submitted to Chris.

4.    Safety Plans- Donna Buffett

·    Safety plan goal to be in and approved to LLI=March 31, 09

·    Implementation of plan is important, not just on paper. Donna may make rounds to check your compliance.

·    E-mail Donna when your plan has been submitted, dbuffett5@msn.com

5.    New Rule- Camilla

·    Rule 5.07 option. Pertains to the 5 run rule on any last inning

·    Each league must submit a request if they want this rule to apply.  It must be DA approved to use.

6.    Financial Statements- Camilla

·    Electronic submission preferred.  Please submit to Camilla if you have not. camillaserrano@hotmail.com

7.    District Dues- Camilla

·    No changes. $3.00 per player due April 1, 09 payable to District 5. Please mail this to DA.

·    Portion of dues will go to a banner made for each league to display stating the district 5 and participating leagues

8.    II-d, IV-h, League Residency Waivers- Camilla

·    League residency waivers must be signed annually, agreed upon by both leagues w/ attached letter of explanation.  No tournament play is allowed.  Request for tournament play can be requested through DA, and will be forwarded to Williamsport for final approval.  Note tournament play for League residency waivers is not commonly granted.

·    II-d, IV-h waivers do not need to be resubmitted annually.  However please have all necessary forms/paperwork attached to application. Applications will NOT be returned-so make your own copies of all paperwork to keep on file for tournament verification.

9.    Tournament Pin Design- Camilla

·    All leagues agreed to have tournament pins be custom.

·    These are not division/age specific, but district 5 specific and year.

10. Challenger Division-Jennifer Burns

·    Currently 116 players. 

·    Looking for buddies from each league that are interested in assist/mentor players.  Games are 1hr15min long.

·    PLEASE HAVE ALL FIELDS MARKED, DRAGGED, FIELD GAME READY, and BASELINES CLEAR of DEBRIS prior to Challenger games scheduled at your league.  If possible it would be courteous to have a league representative available to help answer questions or assist with last minute concerns at games.

·    Please contact Jennifer if you have concerns about player that may benefit from playing in the Challenger Division.  She is also available to discuss how to approach parents with this suggestion or talk with them herself.  Jennifer Burns- sjburns4@msn.com

1     Interleague meeting, all interleague managers to attend.  Wed, March 18, 7pm @ Manzano Mesa. (Southern/ Eubank)

2     Bill Hendrick- District Chief Umpire, is holding meetings (contact Bill to confirm dates in case of change)
