Two local people have been selected to umpire post state tournament play. They are Rene Sedillo who will umpire Regional Major Baseball in Waco and Kraig Max who will umpire Senior Baseball at the Little League World Series. Congratulations!

Please visit the little league website at www.littleleague.org. It will allow you to sign up and get regular emailings on everything currently going on in little league. At the data center you can ask Barry Groves for a password. You will be able to change your officers so mailings and emails go to the correct people.

Financial Statements need to be sent to Camilla and Williamsport. Statements are due now.

Your 990 EZ Tax Return is due by February 15, 2007. If your gross receipts are over $25,000 or less than $100,000, if over $100,000 then file a 990.

Little League has signed a contract with ESPN this year and because of that there will be money put back into the leagues in the form of free background checks. Each league gets 80 free criminal background checks and anyone over 80 costs just $1.00 each. Run checks on all volunteers, this includes board members, managers, coaches, umpires, etc. Run on the New Mexico Sex Offender website and www.choicepoint.com also.

Peeler fundraiser was handed out.

Charters need to be in. If you are not sure if your leagues charter is in you can check the status online at the address listed above. Constitutions need to be reviewed and sent in to Waco. Any changes have to be approved by Waco. Local or special rules don’t need to be mailed in.

Annual Corporate Report should be in by now to the Public Regulations Commission. You can check the status online at www.littleleague.org.

Camilla needs a Board of Directors list from each league. Please email a copy if you have not done so already.

Safety Plans are due by May 1, 2007. If all plans are in by April 1, 2007, then the district gets a discount on flags. Please get them in to Williamsport as soon as possible.

Challengers – Jennifer asked all leagues if challengers were still playing at all leagues. The cost is $25.00 per person. Registration forms were handed out. Please have players fill out a medical release form and include with the registration form. Each league was asked for 5 dates set aside for challenger games. “Buddies” are still needed, please contact Jennifer if available.

Bill’s hoping to have an umpire/rules clinic sometime in mid March. There will be more information to follow at the next meeting.

Please get registration information to Chris as soon as possible so she can get the information to the newspapers and parks and recreation.

Next meeting scheduled for February 6, 2007, at 6:00 pm. An email will be sent out with the location.

Meeting adjourned at 7:05 pm.
