The regular monthly District 5 League Presidents met on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Thunderbird Little League with regular chair Camilla Serrano presiding and recording secretary Chris Hughes.
Charters: In order to enter any team in a tournament you must charter in that division. In other words, if you enter a team in Senior Baseball, you must charter in Senior Baseball. The divisions you charter in are the only divisions in which you can enter a tournament team.
Waivers and Finances: All waivers and finances must be cleared up by June 2, 2006. This includes your charter with any adjustments you make. You can make adjustments to your charters no later than June 15, 2006.
You must submit your rosters no later than fourteen days after your league starts regular season.
Player Dues: All leagues have paid except for Zia.
Safety Plans: East Mountain, Lobo, Thunderbird and Zia have their plans in. Please send a copy to Joe Archibeque and Williamsport.
Hosting Tournaments: This year District 5 is hosting the 11 Year Old Baseball and Big League Softball tournaments. If your league is interested in hosting one or both of these tournaments please email Camilla. Remember you must be chartered and have an approved safety plan in order to host any tournament. Only umpires who have been trained by an authorized trainer are eligible to umpire during State tournaments. If you have questions on this requirement, please contact Camilla or Kraig.
II(d) and IV(h) Forms: Please draw Camilla a map connecting the player to the parent(s) if a different last name is involved. Remember; three proofs of residency must accompany the II(d) form, three proofs from the old address and three proofs from the current address. Residency waivers should have been to Camilla before your season started.
Interleague: We engaged in a conversation on number of games for the interleague schedule. Although the 2006 schedules will not be redone, we are encouraged to communicate more about this in 2007. Each league needs a clear understanding of how many games will be scheduled so that field availability as well as individual team expectations are consistent.
District 5 Senior Baseball will interleague with Roadrunner Little League.
The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 7, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Thunderbird Little League.
Meeting adjourned at 2:50 PM.
